Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline
Imagine if every family in Colorado had access to the support they need. Know a family that needs help? Have concerns about possible child abuse or neglect? Call 844-CO-4-Kids, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your call is confidential.
What Happens After You Call?
What happens after you make a call to 844-CO-4-Kids? It starts with a trained call taker asking you a series of questions. Then a team of child welfare professionals review the call and decide if the case requires the involvement of a child protection team. A child’s safety is the main priority. Even if a caseworker does get involved, 70% of children remain in the home while their family gets the support they need.
Most calls don’t result in a caseworker visit – but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t call. We still may be able to help the family through a prevention program.
