Nominate Outstanding Foster Parents

A large family with a mother, father, and six children—three girls and three boys—pose together in their living room, with the four adults and two older boys standing behind four younger children seated on a brown sofa.

This year we want to recognize as many amazing foster and kinship families as we can.  As such, we are looking for great families who want to share their stories and we need your help!

Instead of an event in May, each month we are seeking nominations of foster families across the state who are making a big difference for youth in foster care. Nominations will be accepted throughout the fiscal year, as we seek a family to recognize each month. You can complete the nomination form to recognize dedicated foster parents through the Office of Children, Aging and Community Services, many of whom will be recognized during Foster Care Month in May 2027.

“Inside Foster Care” Video Series Three exceptional families will also be selected to appear in this year’s “Inside Foster Care” video series, which highlights the diverse experiences of families and children and youth within Colorado’s child welfare system.

We are especially interested in families who:

Are bilingual or Spanish-speaking

Provide therapeutic or treatment-level care

Support teens or sibling groups

Are part of Colorado’s African American community

Additional Recognition and Deadlines

In addition to the video series, nominated foster and kinship families will also be recognized across our social media platforms, featured in dedicated blog posts and featured in media outreach efforts for Foster Care Month in May of 2027.

Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis and are due by the end of each month. Submit your nomination today to help celebrate the caregivers making a real difference for Colorado’s children and youth.
