San Luis Valley Foster Care and Adoption

Foster parents provide a safe, temporary home for children and teens whose parents or caregivers are unable to care for them. When a young person is removed from their home and a caseworker is unable to identify a family friend or relatives to care for them temporarily, they are placed with a foster family.

Today, the San Luis Valley has few certified foster families ready to care for children and teens of our community. Oftentimes our foster homes are full, which requires that children who come into care must be placed outside of our communities away from their schools, friends, neighbors and extended families. You can help us keep San Luis Valley kids in our community.
