See You at the Capitol on April 3rd!

A speaker at the podium addresses an audience gathered at the Colorado State Capitol to launch the Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Join us April 3, 2023 for a Child Abuse Prevention Month kickoff event at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. It’s also Wear Blue Day, so help us celebrate the start of CAPM by wearing blue in support of growing a better tomorrow for all children, together.

April 3 at 1 pm – Wear blue and bring your pinwheels for the Child Abuse Prevention Month rally! The Colorado Department of Human Services is hosting a midday event at the Capitol West Steps to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month, led by the Office of Children, Youth and Families.

Also at the Capitol on April 3 – Grab a pinwheel and help Illuminate Colorado raise awareness of family strengthening efforts. Illuminate staff and partners will be on site for the readings of the tributes and to distribute pinwheels to legislators. Be sure to wear blue and Illuminate Colorado will bring the pinwheels!

Communities across the nation and Colorado are planting pinwheel gardens and wearing blue throughout the month of April as a sign of our collective commitment to prioritizing children and families. Join us in person at the Capitol on April 3, or live stream the rally on our Facebook page
