Missing Youth Reporting Requirements Rule Recommendations

The Colorado Department of Human Services Office of Children Youth and Families, Division of Child Welfare is updating Volume 7 administrative rule related to reporting requirements of missing children and youth. The purpose of the rule work is to align Colorado’s rule and practice with the requirements of the Social Security Act and the Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2022. This rule change will clarify actions required by county child welfare staff and enhance Colorado’s Child Welfare response to human trafficking.

There will be two separate public listening sessions regarding the Missing Youth Reporting Requirements Rule Recommendations, held on May 29th and June 4th. This is an opportunity for interested individuals to learn about the proposed rules, ask questions, and provide feedback.
