Opportunities to get involved

Private and international adoption

Catholic Charities is licensed by the Colorado Department of Human Services to conduct child adoptions in Colorado. The staff brings forth an exceptional level of professional expertise and personal commitment to the adoption experience of our clients.

All our programs are child-centered and we believe that every child deserves a loving, nurturing, permanent family.  We want to place children in loving, stable families with sound values and moral principles.

We believe that every form of adoption must center on meeting the needs of the adoptee and that children are best served by preserving their connection to their family of origin.  Catholic Charities is an advocate for Open Adoption, a form of adoption where the birth parents and adoptive parents are known to one another and have some form of an ongoing relationship.  Children who know their birth parents appear to have a better understanding of themselves and don’t have the abandonment issues as some adoptees do in confidential adoptions.  We believe that adoption is a life-long process and we remain a resource to our clients through the years.
