Help us improve services for older youth in foster care

August 27, 2019

Based on recommendations from the House Bill 1319 Steering Committee, the Division of Child Welfare is seeking to better understand 1) how to modernize the Chafee Foster Care Independence Program (Chafee), ensuring equitable access to eligible youth with prioritization, and 2) how to implement a more successful extended foster care program with a re-entry option.

In conjunction with the formation of the Chafee Modernization Task Group and the Older Youth Case Closure and Re-Entry Workgroup, the Division of Child Welfare would like to engage a wide audience of stakeholders from four key groups:

  • foster parents
  • foster youth and young adults
  • Chafee workers
  • case workers

In order to ensure equitable and engaged participation of these stakeholders, the Division of Child Welfare has sought the neutral facilitation services of the Rocky Mountain Innovation Lab.

Can you join the Rocky Mountain Innovation Lab for 90 minutes on September 11th at the Metro Regional Training Center, 5670 Greenwood Plaza Blvd., Suite 115, Greenwood Village, CO 80111? Session times for each group are as follows.

  • Foster parents: 8:30 am -10:00 am
  • Chafee workers: 10:30 am - 12:00 pm?
  • Caseworkers: 1:00 pm - 2:30
