Feedback needed on rules regulating residential child care facilities and quality standards for 24-hour child care

June 3, 2021

The CDHS Division of Child Welfare is seeking feedback on proposed changes to rules regulating Residential Child Care Facilities and rules regulating quality standards for 24-hour child care. These rules are being updated to support the Family First Prevention Services Act, and will create a new provider type, Therapeutic Wilderness Program. Additional proposed changes to the rules include restraint and seclusion in 24-hour programs, adding definitions and services for youth survivors of sex trafficking, administering medications in 24-hour programs and language updates to reflect current terminology. These rules are scheduled to be effective November 2021. Please join us to get an overview of the proposed changes.
