Family First training series for Colorado judicial and legal professionals

The Colorado Court Improvement Program in collaboration with the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law, Colorado County Attorney’s Association, Office of the Child’s Representative and Office of Respondent Parents’ Counsel, is hosting a three-part virtual training series about how the Family First may affect individual roles and cases. Using the ABA Center’s The Family First Prevention Services Act of 2018: A Guide for the Legal Community, presenters will highlight the impact of selected areas on agency and county attorneys, guardians ad litem, counsels for children, respondent parents’ counsel and judges. Focus area: Before a Petition is Filed

September 15, 12-1 p.m.
Focus area: After a Petition is Filed and a Child or Youth Enters Foster Care

September 29, 12-1 p.m.
Focus area: During a Child or Youth's Transition from Foster Care
