Family First and Trails Mod: Join Colorado leaders as they discuss implementing these two changes.

November 9, 2020

Child welfare agencies across the nation are working tirelessly to implement the Family First Prevention Services Act and Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) federal regulations (Colorado's CCWIS is called Trails).

Leaders from the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) Division of Child Welfare will present how they have coordinated timelines for Family First and their Trails Modernization project, how they have engaged their technology partners early and often to develop CCWIS functionality and reporting that supports federal requirements and informs decision making.

The webinar, hosted by the Human Services IT Advisory Group, will also include lessons learned in change management as they prepare their workforce to use new Trails features and update their program to further the goals of Family First.

Speakers will include:

  • Angelina Callis, Family First Project Manager
  • Lorendia Schmidt, Trails Product Owner
  • JP Sleeger, Trails Team Supervisor
