Applications are now open for contract Parent Advocates

October 18, 2021

The Office of Respondent Parents’ Counsel (ORPC) is seeking to contract with parents to advocate for others experiencing the stress of a child being removed from their care. ORPC is the independent state agency that provides court-appointed attorneys to indigent parents in Dependency and Neglect proceedings in Colorado.

Parent Advocates will work alongside court-appointed parents’ attorneys on family defense teams to support parents, help parents advocate for themselves, and amplify the parents’ voice in child welfare policy decisions.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Did you have a prior child welfare case?
  • Did your case close successfully more than one year ago?
  • Are you a parent of a child returned to your care after a removal?
  • Did your child remain in your care during your case?

Applications are now open until Dec 15, 2021. Apply here:
