The Fernandez-Martinez Family

The Fernandez Martinez family, from Henderson, Colorado, was one of five families honored at the CDHS luncheon in recognition of National Adoption Month.  Rebecca and Rafael are the proud parents of a sibling group of four children adopted from the foster care system and currently the foster parents to as sibling group of three.  Rebecca and Rafael always knew they wanted a large family and were reluctant to limit the number of children they would take, even on their foster care application, for fear of splitting a sibling group. They remodeled their home to enable them to take additional siblings and a bought a passenger van. “We always wanted a big family, so when the call came in for a large sibling group we said yes, an instant family!”
