  • Weld County Foster Care

    Foster Care Welcome Night

    Join the Weld County Department of Human Services for an open house-style meeting about becoming a foster parent. A presentation begins at 5 pm but everyone is invited to arrive early to chat with county staff and others who are interested in becoming foster parents.

    Foster parents provide temporary care of a child or children while supporting family and agency efforts to reunify the parents with their children. Most children served by the agency remain at home, but for those children whose safety requires temporary removal, the goal is always to reunite the family.

    Our Information Nights are open to any interested member of the public to learn more about foster care and adoption through the Collaborative Foster Care Program of Arapahoe, Douglas and Jefferson Counties. There is no cost to attend.

  • Monthly Kinship Support Group

    Monthly support group on the fourth Tuesday of each month for Kinship families. Light dinner provided, childcare provided. Programs and fun activities for all. Certification hours given with attendance. Please email to register and confirm meeting location. Location may vary.

    Every day, foster parents stand up for children in our community by opening their home and their hearts to children in need of temporary parental care. Foster parents have many roles. One of the most critical is offering protection and basic provisions for children until their parents are ready and able to ensure those needs are met.
