Colorado hero lifts weight from families in need of child care

May 6, 2019

When unexpected things happen, it takes a courageous and thoughtful person to step in and offer help to families. TJ Steinebach, General Manager of the UFC Gym in Lone Tree, Colorado, is no ordinary hero.

On a Wednesday in April, schools across Colorado were unexpectedly closed. There were parents and families that potentially needed help with finding child care and TJ stepped up.

In an email to members of the gym, TJ informed families that in response to the unexpected closure of schools in the community, he was opening up the gym for children to spend the day while their parents went to work.

TJ  provided pizza, a self-defense seminar and a safe place for parents to drop their children. TJ's act of kindness helped parents that may have been in a bind, to have a peace of mind.

We all play a role in strengthening families and Colorado kids thrive when families are supported.

TJ, thank you. Your actions are the definition of, "we are all in this together."
